Call for Artists: Irrational Exuberance
Recession Art is taking submissions in all media for our next exhibit to be held at the Invisible Dog in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, from April 30-May 8, 2011. “Irrational Exuberance” will explore seemingly rational systems of mass belief or delusion, and their relationship to economic and moral values. Especially of interest are pieces where form is at odds with content, such as ecstatic depictions of pain, highly technical treatments of the intangible, or lavish renderings of the supposedly worthless. Installations and works that involve mass participation will be given special consideration. The deadline for submissions is Monday, February 7. Artists will be notified of acceptance by the end of February. Visit http://recessionartshows.com/submit to read the complete show description and terms and to access the Submission Form. Email info@recessionartshows.com with any questions.
