The Pioneers of Bushwick project is an ongoing series of photographic portraits of long-time Bushwick residents, paired with their text about Bushwick history. Photo sessions were conducted in a “pop-up” studio by artist Daryl-Ann Saunders at the Diana Jones Senior Center as part of an art residency program initiated by the Brooklyn Arts Council, in partnership with the NY Department for the Aging and the NY Department of Cultural Affairs. “Part II” of the Pioneers of Bushwick project will be presented in June 2012.
