Volunteers and Donations Needed for Sandy Relief Efforts
¡CALABAZAFEST! Bushwick’s 3rd annual fun and FREE cross cultural community celebrationof the season has been rescheduled for this Sunday, November 4th, in Maria Hernandez Park from 1-5 pm. In addition to mariachi bands, a costume contest, face painting, dancing to Latin jazz rhythms, and family-friendly crafts, Arts in Bushwick will also be collecting donations for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. Let’s all pitch in and help our friends!
The following items are in the greatest need:
- Trash Bags
- Toiletries
- Canned Goods and Can Openers
- Nonperishable Food
- Warm Clothing: Jackets, Gloves, Hats, Socks, Boots
- Blankets and Towels
- Pet Food
- Plates
- Cups
- Bowls
- Utensils
- Cleaning Supplies
- Brooms
- Mops
- Sponges
- Water

Arts in Bushwick will also be collecting donations throughout the week at the Bushwick Community Darkroom located in the Shops at the Loom (1095 Flushing Ave)
