Ava McNamee is a painter, ceramicist, sculptor and art teacher who graduated from Queens College and continued her studies at Miami University and the Art Students League. She also studied ceramics at Santa Fe Clay, Arizona Art Center and Coyote Clay in Albuquerque. Sacred Mountains is a series of works that were influenced by her 6 years as a resident of Chinatown, where her love of Chinese landscape art began. Arts at Hudson Guild are supported in part by / public funds from New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
