Eye vs Eye
A Duel Exhibition between Chris RWK & Sugar Fueled
Anyone familiar with NYC Street Art will instantly recognize the artwork of the crew known as Robots Will Kill (RWK). For over a decade, founding member Chris RWK has graced the five boroughs of NYC with his highly recognizable Street Art icons. During that time, he has amassed quite a diverse following, inspiring people across the globe with his enjoyable and quirky creations. However, while Chris has been busy decorating the town with his cute, big eyed characters, a new dynamic force has entered the City, bringing his gang of fantastic creations to the Big Apple. Possessing a complimentary approach and style to Chris, Michael “Sugar Fueled” Banks has announced his intentions through his myriad of deceptively cuddly monsters, who are ready to steal your heart. Just in time for Halloween, we are excited to open our newest show, Eye vs Eye, an artistic duel between two exceptional artists who bring a playful and jovial element to the art world.
Eye vs Eye, is a play on the infamous Spy vs Spy comic strips, from the legendary Mad Magazine. The artwork of both Chris RWK and Sugar Fueled possess elements that were inspired by the Spy vs Spy world. Furthermore, their artwork embodies the traditional flair of old comic books and cartoons through their play on pop culture iconography by creating a humorous interpretation of the world around them.
Chris RWK & Sugar Fueled incorporate a variety of techniques and materials into their paintings. Utilizing different components, such as collage work and acrylics, the artists approach their paintings from an illustrative angle, breathing life into their work and creating an identifiable personality to each piece. Eye vs Eye is an entertaining and lively show that is appropriate for the whole family.
