Panel and Discussion about Public Funding for the Arts: “The Forgotten Federal Artists: CETA and the Cultural Council Foundation’s Artists Project 1977-1980.”

Nearly everyone has heard of the WPA Federal Art Project. However, a similar government-sponsored project under the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA), which employed 10,000 artists during the 1970s, has largely been forgotten. This panel will focus on the CETA-funded Cultural Council Foundation (CCF) Project and how it might provide a model going forward.
