David C. Terry and Tammy Nguyen Artist Talk

Terry manipulates objects with an ironical twist and Nguyen paints stories with an academic approach. Both of these artists come from an informed point of view, studying history and cultures and examining the suppression or domination of marginalized communities and people of color. Before and after the discussion, Terry will stamp guests $1 and $20 bills with a custom-made imprint, SLAVE OWNER with the hope that guests use these dollars and the day’s discussion and inquiry will continue beyond the gallery walls.
