George Petrides will present 5 works (two paintings, two sculptures and a drawing) as part of a group show at Van Der Plas Gallery, 156 Orchard Street, New York, with opening reception on Wednesday April 10th, from 6 – 8pm. Adriaan Van Der Plas has been a contemporary dealer in New York for over twenty-five years, known for showing a wide range of outsider and emerging artists.

George drew and painted in watercolors as a child. He left art-making aside as he pursued a bachelor’s degree at Harvard and an MBA at Stanford, and for decades worked as a mergers and acquisitions investment banker at major Wall Street firms, then running his own boutique. Over the years he occasionally took classes in art. In 2017, he experienced some “life changes” and decided to leave banking behind and devote himself to making art, exclusively figurative art, focusing on sculpture while still painting and drawing every week.
