EcoArt Project invites artists and designers to submit art in any medium: painting, drawing, print, sculpture, ceramics, textile, installation, mixed media, film, digital, performance, etc. Applications (art portfolio and artist bio) will be reviewed for exhibition consideration.
Earth Day Experience is an interdisciplinary exhibition to celebrate Earth Day 2021, and create some much-needed artistic vibrancy in NYC. We are looking for five artists and designers to create an impactful experience. We will award a total of $15,000 to five winners—$3,000 each. These five artists/designers will be invited to produce a new piece for the Earth Day Experience exhibition that will be installed this spring from April 6 to April 28 at 7 East 14th Street, a venue kindly provided by our partner organization ChaShaMa. Artists may also choose to exhibit existing work if it fits within the environmental theme of the exhibition and the work has not been previously exhibited.
A select number of artists will also have the opportunity to be featured in Earth Day 2021 virtual events put together by Earth Day Initiative, a New York-based nonprofit organization with the mission of bringing the spirit of the first Earth Day into the 21st Century.
EcoArt Project establishes collaborations with artists and creative minds to facilitate opportunities in the environment/climate change space. The exhibition Earth Day Experience is part of RE-Bound NYC—a program incubated by EcoArt Project to repurpose empty storefronts as cultural pop-ups throughout 2021. It is EcoArt Project’s goal to showcase artworks able to effectively convey the urgency of our environmental crisis, to address climate change, and envision sustainable pathways. We seek to collaborate with artists who can engage in creative exchanges with impactful messaging. During these difficult times, we also hope to highlight how so many artists and designers are pointing the way onward and upward.
