The Carter Burden Gallery, Chelsea, NY on Thursday, October 12, 2023

Two by Two Media and Carter Burden Gallery are thrilled to announce the first group exhibition of eight amazing, celebrated female artists all over the age of 68, who have been dedicated to their craft and practice for many years. The show will feature works by celebrated photographers Flo Fox, West Murray, Donna Bassin, Meryl Meisler, Donna Ferrato and Salimah Ali, along with paintings by the prolific 90 year old artist, Sheila Schwid with a fashion presentation by Tziporah Salamon.

This will be the first exhibition of the Two by Two Media collective which empowers elder female artists through free technical, archival, digital and marketing support in order to pursue and grow their creative practice and artistic careers. It is a symbiotic effort that aligns two organizations with similar missions in recognizing over looked artists of a certain age.

Carter Burden Gallery targets NYC artists over the age of 60, fostering a supportive and culturally-diverse community of re-emerging artists. We celebrate this community’s unique ability to share lifetimes participating as vital members of New York’s arts culture, and work to create opportunities for networking and responding to each other’s work, thereby invigorating the creative process. In recognizing this community, we confirm their continued value and contribution to the arts.
