Westbeth Gallery is pleased to present Dads, a group exhibition of artists who are also fathers, on view at its’ Richard Meier designed courtyard location,55 Bethune Street in theWestVillage of NewYork.The show is curated by artist James Gortner.
This is a show about Dads who make art. It should be understood by the viewer that the mixed Emerging, Mid-Ca- reer, and Established artists in the show are from many backgrounds and working across many mediums including but not limited to; painting, photography, drawing, print-making, sculpture, performance, video and conceptual art. Each make art for various reasons. Dads will not close in on, or link any of those reasons for the purposes of this show, or expand on the connection between this Dadly part of their identity and their art. It is the point of this
exhibition to highlight a unique kind of familial artist identity, and activate your feelings about each work, knowing this identity is present.
