VincentDonato’s work centers on repetition. His recurring image of the rose highlights the significance of other variables—such as paint thickness, transparency, and the effect of color and mark-making on the sense of noise or calm. These elements combine to form visceral compositions that act as a visual journal, each piece exploring different shades of existential emotion. By alternating the image as object and object as image, VincentDonato reminds us of the inevitable contradictions that define mortal existence.
“Pop up Number 5” is VincentDonato’s fifth solo pop-up exhibition, featuring both recent and previous works.
Pop-ups provide a space of opportunity for VincentDonato to showcase his evolution as an artist. Each piece offers insight into his recurring themes, including existentialism and the contrast between fragility and strength. This show invites viewers to engage with the stages of his artistic journey.
