Neighbor is proud to present Barcode Landscape: Landscapes of a Coded World 2025, the latest solo exhibition by Korean artist Hyun-Young Oh. Building on the momentum of her 2024 show Coded, Uncoded and Recoded Hope, Oh returns with a striking new series that reimagines traditional East Asian landscapes through the lens of digital culture.

A graduate of Hongik University in Seoul, Oh has spent over 30 years developing a distinctive visual language that merges silkscreen printing with acrylic painting. Her works have been exhibited internationally—from Seoul and Busan to New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, and Singapore—earning acclaim for their fusion of heritage and technology.

In Barcode Landscape, Oh transforms natural elements—mountains, suns, clouds—into coded symbols of the digital age: barcodes, QR codes, and Bitcoin logos. These works challenge viewers to reconsider the meaning of “landscape” in a world increasingly shaped by data and virtual exchange. Through silkscreen repetition and subtle brush strokes, she captures the tension between mechanization and human touch, offering a poetic critique of modern society’s obsession with efficiency and quantification.

🗓️ Exhibition Dates: October 9 – October 30, 2025
