Thursday MARCH 22nd, Guy Hepner will partner with the TAX Collection to present
‘Be Still.’ – a solo exhibition by Loribelle Spirovski. ‘Be Still.’ is a collection of
Spirovski’s’ latest body of work exploring how the concept of ‘space’ interacts with an occupant and the conversation that exists between a figure and the space around them.
Loribelle Spirovski is a trained painter and artist living and working in Sydney
Australia. Since graduating from the University of New South Wales in 2012, Spirovski has has been recognized for her accomplishments in art and portraitrure including as a 2017 finalist for Australia’s Archibal prize. ‘Be Still.’ is the artist’s first solo
exhibition in the United States.
“As a child of immigrants and an immigrant myself, my fixation on space is a particularly meaningful one. These indirect self-portraits are distillations of my identity as a young woman, with all of my fixations, obsessions and anxieties. Over the past few years, I have found that I have become more and more drawn to the tension of a space – the need to fill it, the need to understand its strange sentience.”
Founded in 2002, Guy Hepner offers one of the most extensive resources for access to blue chip modern and contemporary masters, along with mid career and emerging
artists. Guy Hepner exhibits works from household names such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David LaChapelle, Banksy, and Damien Hirst at his gallery located in Chelsea New York.
The TAX Collection is New York based, multi-modal creative platform acting as a catalyst for emerging and established artists. Guy Hepner first collaborated with The TAX Collection in 2016 with their group exhibition ‘Ephemeral’. Since then, they have
presented six successful exhibitions and are pleased to work together in 2018 with a curatorial residency consisting of seven total exhibitions.
‘Be Still.’ will be on view at Guy Hepner in Chelsea NYC beginning March 22nd.
