Natalie Karpushenko’s US Debut Opens at The Untitled Space in Tribeca This June

The Untitled Space presents Women of Water, Women of Earth, the debut US solo exhibition by Kazakhstan-born photographer, filmmaker, and environmental artist Natalie Karpushenko. The exhibition opens June 25, 2026 and remains on view through July 17, 2026 at 45 Lispenard Street in Tribeca. The show follows Karpushenko’s selection as the recipient of The Untitled Space’s 2026 Solo Exhibition Open Call Award.

Women of Water, Women of Earth brings together works from across Karpushenko’s celebrated photographic practice, exploring the profound relationship between women and the natural world. Through evocative images that merge reality and myth, the exhibition examines feminine strength, transformation, environmental stewardship, and humanity’s enduring connection to the earth and sea. Across oceans, forests, rivers, and elemental landscapes, the women in her photographs emerge not as observers of nature, but as extensions of it.

Karpushenko works exclusively in natural environments, creating photographs entirely without AI-generated imagery or digital manipulation. An avid freediver and ocean conservation advocate, she has spent years photographing and swimming alongside whales and other marine life in remote marine environments. “My art is a result of my desire to reconnect with the natural world – especially through water, the element we all came from,” the artist has said. Her work has been featured in Vogue France, Vogue Germany, Harper’s Bazaar, and Nowness, and has received recognition from the Fine Art Photography Awards and the SUGi x NAVA Photo Contest.

Women of Water, Women of Earth is a rare opportunity to experience Karpushenko’s immersive visual narratives in person for the first time in the United States.
